Krista is a vocalist, musician, Emmy-nominated composer and businesswoman based in the greater Kansas City Metro area. She has appeared on various stages including New Theatre & Restaurant, Kansas City Actors Theatre, the Chestnut Fine Arts Center, Music Theatre Heritage, Fishtank Theatre at the Black Box, the Arts Asylum, Barn Players, and Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park. Krista is the co-book writer, composer and lyricist of Overture the Musical, a 2019 Grand Jury Next Link Selection for the New York Musical Festival (NYMF) and winner of Best of Fest Audience Choice Award-2019 New York Musical Festival. Krista is also the composer/lyricist/co-book writer for The Sparkletones which will debut regionally in March 2022. Krista also originated the lead role of Lily and performed it Off-Broadway at the Signature Theatre during Overture's NYMF production run. Krista directed and edited the documentary, "Worth Waiting For: journey of a musical," which chronicles the three-year adventure from page to stage. (Documentary can be found here.)
She has created a catalog of music, and has written musicals and performance works for both secular and sacred settings. Krista also established her KC-based business, Funky Mama Music, over a decade ago to promote original, rock n' roll for families, and as "Funky Mama," was invited to sing at the White House for the 2007 Easter Egg Roll.
In her previous career, Krista was an Emmy-nominated news reporter for KMBC-TV Channel 9 News.

Barbara has worked extensively as a director and actor in Kansas City for over 30 years. Barbara is the co-book writer and director of Overture the Musical, a 2019 Grand Jury Next Link Selection for the New York Musical Festival and winner of Best of Fest Audience Choice Award-2019 New York Musical Festival. Barbara is co-book writer and lyrics contributor to The Sparkletones and new musical premiering March 2022 in Kansas City. She also collaborated with Krista on the 2010 original children’s musical, Moo Juice. She serves on the board of The Barn Players, the oldest community theatre in Kansas City. As director, shows include Sunday in the Park.., Secret Garden, Evita, 1776, The Full Monty, Once, 1776 and many others. As an actor, she has performed for The Barn Players, Chestnut Fine Arts, Olathe Civic Theatre and Ouray Opera House.
